About the Aino Design Case
Nestlé's premium ice cream brand Aino was launched in the highly competitive ice cream market with great success. The creative strategy for Aino was based on a national-romantic, Kalevala-inspired concept (Kalevala is the national epic of Finland). The concept was systematically applied throughout the whole branding: from naming to choosing the taste variants and from design to advertising.
Only three weeks after its launch Aino became the leading brand of the premium ice cream home-package segment in the Finnish market. Aino quickly stabilized its position and has exceeded its targeted sales. Brand image results have also been outstanding.
